About Grange Park

Named for the 1817 mansion — the Grange House — which sits in Grange Park, this neighbourhood was once home to the elites of Toronto, reflected by many mansions along Beverly Street which still stand today. In the 1900s, Grange Park underwent a transformation, as more and more working class immigrants moved into the area, building row houses throughout the neighbourhood. In modern day, the Grange House and several mansions on Beverly are the only remnants of the neighbourhood’s prominent past, and now Grange Park is better known for its diverse population and neighbouring areas like Chinatown. The elites are gone, and this neighbourhood is home to young professionals and small families, which is evident in its youthful feel.Due to its central location, the neighbourhood is crossed by multiple major thoroughfares — Spadina, Dundas, Queen, College and University. Grange Park is surrounded by an assortment of restaurants, pubs and shops — many of which cater to Asian buyers and are considered part of Chinatown; most restaurants on the western edge of the neighbourhood serve Chinese cuisine, and those further east tend to be more diverse.Grange Park condos cast a wide net, and are suited to all kinds of buyers; although, the neighbourhood isn’t generally thought of as a family area, and there aren’t many schools within its boundaries — though there are quite a few just outside of it. Residents have a large community centre at University Settlement, with a swimming pool, basketball court, a gym, and all the usual attractions.Entertainment options are geared towards adults; there’s nearby pubs, the Art Gallery of Ontario on Dundas St W, comedy clubs, movie theatres, and a variety of themed bars. Queen Street has a vibrant shopping scene, and there’s a plethora of shops next door in Chinatown and Kensington Market — so if you’re interested in Grange Park condos, you’ll need to control your shopping impulses. Condo buyers have a lot to choose from in the neighbourhood, with over a dozen buildings completed and more in development. Grange Park condos can be pricey, but there are a few cheaper options like Village by the Grange & Grangetown Lofts for budget minded buyers. There’s a mix of old and modern buildings, and amenities are in line with what you would expect from most downtown Toronto condos. The big draw for Toronto condos for sale here is location — this neighbourhood has incredible access to dining, nightlife, shopping, entertainment, and public transit. As a resident of Grange Park, you’ll have an easy time going anywhere in the city, and prices here are still lower than those in other youthful areas like King West. Grange Park condos come with a 99 Walk Score — no need for a vehicle here. For longer trips, residents have a wealth of public transit options in every direction, and 3 subway stations on the eastern border of the neighbourhood: Osgood, St. Patrick, and Queens Park. For those who do own a vehicle, a quick trip south on Spadina will have you on the Gardiner Expressway for fast travel around the city.
