About Hillcrest Village
The land where Hillcrest Village neighbourhood now stands was settled by Robert John Turner in 1840 — Turner’s house was named Bracondale, and the village which formed around it became known as Bracondale Village. In 1937, the Turner family sold Bracondale House, and the residence was demolished to make way for Hillcrest Park.Hillcrest Village is much more than your average suburban neighbourhood — on winding residential streets you’ll find a diverse selection of houses, many of which feature an old world look. The neighbourhood is hilly, and packed with mature trees, expansive green spaces, and natural beauty.Hillcrest Village Condos are located on the northern and southern boundaries, near Steeles Ave E and Finch Ave E. Condo buyers have over a dozen buildings in the neighbourhood to choose from — in a mix of high-rises and townhouse complexes. As a popular area for families, there are many schools nearby at all academic levels, including Seneca College of Applied Arts and Technology for post secondary students. There’s a wide variety of sports fields — basketball, soccer, football, baseball — and plenty of outdoor activities; residents can enjoy a long walk on the Duncan Creek Trail and be completely immersed in nature.Businesses in the area are spread between Don Mills Road, Steeles Ave E, and Victoria Park Avenue, plus there’s a large commercial centre on the eastern edge of the neighbourhood. Residents enjoy access to restaurants, pubs, shopping, fitness centres, and many service based businesses. There are corporate headquarters in the area for Sony and a variety of tech companies and financial institutions. One of the best aspects of Hillcrest Village Condos are the spacious suites; you won’t find a unit under 1000 square feet in any of the building here, and prices are well below those of units in downtown Toronto. If you feel cramped in a 500 square foot 1 bedroom downtown, then a 1500 square foot 1 bedroom + den will be music to your ears; which can be found at The Elegance Condos.Hillcrest Village Condos offer the usual amenities — though many buildings have pools and saunas — while townhouses like 4005 Don Mills Road Condos provide only the basics. Hillcrest Village Condos might not have as convenient of a location as downtown condos, but residents still enjoy having easy access to dining and shopping. Hillcrest Village has a Walk Score of 68 — those living on residential streets might need a vehicle or public transit to run errands, but condo owners should have no trouble getting things done on foot.Residents have great access to public transit, with bus stops on all major roads and several stops in residential areas. And while there isn’t a subway station in the neighbourhood, Don Mills Station is just south of the neighbourhood for subway service. Not to be left out — drivers have highway 404 next door, making it easy to connect to the 401 and Don Valley Parkway.
